Leadership Change at Brookline Community Foundation
Dear Friends of the Brookline Community Foundation, As Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Brookline Community Foundation, I want to let you know that I have accepted the resignation of BCF Executive Director Molly Paul. Molly has devoted ten years of tireless and dedicated service to BCF and the community of Brookline, four of those years as Executive Director. The entire board joins me in understanding and respecting Molly’s decision to resign.
Green Community Fun
As Chairman of the Brookline Community Foundation, I have had a lot of pleasures and experiences in seven years of work with BCF. But I have been totally humbled to watch the community respond to the call for help in "greening" our beautiful (but previously quite drafty) old building at 40 Webster Place.
Horror, Humility & Pride in Brookline
Today I attended a very special dedication ceremony wherein the “Hidden Brookline Committee” unveiled an engraving to honor and remember previously unrecognized African-American slaves buried in the Old Burying Ground, a historic section of Brookline’s Walnut Hill Cemetery. With about 200 other locals and guests, I found myself filled with humility, facing up to the horrors that took place within our town and country, and proud to be living in a community that would pull back the comfortable veil of ignorance and embrace the difficult lessons of our history.
