Our hearts go out to the people in Haiti who are suffering hunger, homelessness, injuries and personal grief from the recent earthquake there. The best way to help people in Haiti at this point in time is to make monetary donations to organizations who are experienced in disaster relief and have a presence in the country. Philanthropy differs from charity. Traditionally, philanthropy reflects long-term strategic investments to create lasting change. Charity is more short term and immediate.
