350 Fingers Hard at Work

The Brookline Community Foundation hosted a Weatherization Action on Saturday, October 24, to coincide with 350.org's International Day of Climate Action. More than 35 volunteers (and 350 fingers!) came to pitch in:
~ cleaning out the dirt floor basement and filling a 30 yard dumpster
~ sealing heating ducts, making them more efficient
~ reglazing old, leaky windows
~ digging out window wells for improved basement ventilation
~ blasting an opening and installing a new workable cellar window
~ beginning to insulate the attic and kneewalls
~ removing the 30 year old boiler and marveling at the new one (oh!)
~ tidying the yard and prepping our last harvest for the Food Pantry
Many thanks to our tireless volunteers and to these companies who donated services;
Green Guild, Village Green Renewal, James G. Grant Co, Malin FX Electric, Zaftigs Delicatessen, Save That Stuff
