The Brookline Senior Center's CAREERS IN AGING Program!
The Brookline Senior Center is reaching out, once again, to Brookline High School students looking to enhance their volunteer experience!
This summer program gives students a new perspective on elders and the field of Social Work.
Program runs from July 12, 2010 - August 5, 2010
How students can benefit from this experience:
- Increase leadership and communication skills
- Receive community service credit from your high school
- Be eligible to receive a $1,000 Agnes Rogers college scholarship donated by the Bay Federal Charitable Foundation
- Receive a recommendation letter for college
Program Eligibility:
No fees are required to join the Careers in Aging program, but participants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a 10th, 11th, and 12th grade student residing in Brookline or be a high school age child of a town employee
- Express an interest in Geriatrics or Geriatric Social Work
- Submit a recommendation from a teacher
- Submit an application and schedule an interview at the Brookline Senior Center. Please include a paragraph with your application about why you want to participate this summer.
