Cirque de Palette! BAC's Fundraiser Party, April 30

Cirque de Palette! Brookline Arts Center
Fundraiser Party on April 30, 2011
(February 14, 2011 -- Brookline, MA) On Saturday, April 30, 2011, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m., the Brookline Arts Center will present Cirque de Palette! Brookline Arts Center, a gala party to raise funds for the arts center’s low-income scholarships and the free ArtReach art classes for low-income children and seniors.
The gala honors the Brookline Arts Center’s second “Palette Project.” From April 1 to 25, 2011, the Brookline Arts Center will organize an exhibit of artist’s palettes that were created and donated by Brookline artists and celebrities to benefit community art education at the Brookline Arts Center. The palettes will be on view at businesses and non-profits throughout Brookline, and will be offered to collectors in an on-line silent
auction.
A few select palettes will only be available in a live auction that will take place at the Cirque de Palette! party on Saturday, April 30. A team of special guest auctioneers will be led by author Gary Wolf, who penned Who Killed Roger Rabbit?, which was made into the hit movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
The Cirque de Palette! Brookline Arts Center will also feature performers, live music and dancing, along with elegant food and cocktails. The Newton-based band Exit 17 will provide dance
music from the R&B, funk, rock and jazz traditions. Visitors can also marvel at the gravity-defying performance of juggler Roger May and the sinuous, balletic forms of contortionist Tracy McAskill, both members of the Boston Circus Guild. The Boston Circus Guild is a collaboration of circus arts performers from throughout New England. Giant performance puppets presented by the Puppet Showplace Theatre will also entertain the crowd.
Tickets for the Cirque de Palette! Brookline Arts Center are $100 each and are available in advance by calling 617-566-5715. For more information, visit http://www.
