First Parish Stained Glass Windows

The First Parish Stained Glass Committee, formed in January,  2010 is pleased to announce an agreement establishing the Brookline Community Foundation as the financial manager of the First Parish Stained Glass Fund. Goals of the Committee are to educate the public of the origin and historic significance of the windows and to restore and maintain these windows. First Parish windows, a unique collection of American stained glass, are rich in Brookline history .For example the Lowell window, designed and built by Sarah Wyman Whitman  between 1898 and 1902, was presented by their family in memory of three young adults who died much too soon. The World War One Memorial Rose window memorializes eight servicemen with Brookline connections who died in World War I. Seven chancel windows, early works by Louis Comfort Tiffany, celebrate ministers such as Reverend John Pierce for whom the Pierce School was named.

First Parish Church is part of  the Brookline Town Green at Walnut and Warren Streets which is listed on the  National Register of Historic Places.
