Description of Services:
The Freelance Players' performance companies engage young people in the production of original musical theater, performed by children for audiences of all ages. The six tuition-based programs each produce two original musicals a year. Story Theater classes are offered for children ages 6 to 8. The Freelance Players, for ages 12 to 16, mounts large scale musicals and meets on Wednesdays in Brookline. The Driscoll Freelance Troupe, for ages 8 to 12, meets on Fridays, 3:15 to 5:30. There are also Freelance Troupes in Cambridge, Dove, Jamaica Plain, and Needham.
Urban Improv is another program of Freelance Players, Inc. Urban Improv offers interactive workshops that help young people address challenging life issues including bullying and cyber bullying, peer pressure, sexual harrassment, and changing family life. A professional staff of actor/educators offer workshops and assemblies throughout Boston and greater New England.
