New Roof at BCF!

Another amazing Weatherization Action today ~ hot and humid and incredibly productive. Jim Lockwood of Green Guild led the re-roofing project, for the back end of building. John Manaras and Marcos Santos helped strip off the old ashphalt shingles, revealing minor termintate and water damage. Thanks to James Grant Company, we have a dumpster to take away all the debris. While the top row of sub-roofing was removed, Anderson Insulation blew in cellulose insulation. The roof now has a fresh layer of plywood and a very water-resistant rubber coat.

Anderson also blew in insulation in the ceiling over the conference room.

Jeff Kamps artfully drove the skid steer, donated by United Rentals, and worked at filling in the cistern. Margo Lockwood, Jim's mom, ran errands, schlepping lumber in her sub-compact car.

Many, many thanks to our volunteers Jim, John, Marcos, Jeff & Margo, and for the generous donations of Green Guild, James Grant Co, and United Rentals.
