Town Hall Walls –
Applications for 2010 now being accepted! Deadline January 15, 2010.
The Brookline Commission for the Arts (BCA) is pleased to offer Brookline artists and organizations an opportunity to display their work to the public on the walls of Brookline Town Hall. Now in its second year, the program called "Town Hall Walls," shows artwork in the two public conference rooms on the first floor and the Selectmen's Hearing Room on the 6th floor. These rooms are able to display 2-D artwork work by use of a rail hanging system. This year, 3-D work will also be considered on a limited basis.
A subcommittee of BCA commissioners and community representatives will jury proposals for in these three rooms and will schedule the installation of exhibitions in the spaces. This next application deadline is on Friday, January 15, 2010 and we will program the walls for the remainder of 2010. Approximately 9 – 12 artists will be chosen to exhibit their work.
Details about the spaces, the rail hanging system, and the installation of work are available on the BCA website www.brooklinearts.org, along with a detailed application form. If you have any questions, contact townhallwalls@gmail.com, or phone the BCA at 617-730-2135.
