Come one! Come all! CREATIVE ARTS AT PARK presents a FREE, day-long arts festival for the whole family in Brookline.
The Festival presents work in the visual and performing arts by more than 200 young people from 23 Greater Boston communities. The festival opens on Thursday evening, July 30th and runs all day Friday, July 31st.
The Festival features performances by students ages 8-15 in dance, music, drama, gymnastics, film and video, writing, karate, and fencing as well as many exhibits of their work in the visual arts.
The Festival opens on Thursday evening with the original musical – and one for our times – Nozone a comedic take on our world’s crazy and ever changing weather. Nozone is a zany and musical exploration of extremes not only in the environment but also our moods and emotions. An unconventional extended family confronts adverse – and rapidly deteriorating – weather conditions. Each family member is inspired to respond in his/her own whacky way - one can relate given the weather we’re having this summer!
Nozone is written by Brookline residents Toby Dewey (script) and Narcissa Campion (music and lyrics). The show can be seen on Thursday and Friday, July 30th and 31st, both evenings at 7:30 PM
Celebrating its 28th season this summer, CREATIVE ARTS AT PARK is a multi-arts program that runs for five weeks in June and July. More than 50 professional artists teach students in over 125 courses in the visual and performing arts.
So bring the whole family and join the fun!!!!!!
It’s an Arts Festival for everyone - AND IT’S FREE!!
