 "Sleep No More"

In collaboration with the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, award-winning British theater company, Punchdrunk, makes its U.S. debut with Sleep No More, an immersive production inspired by Shakespeare’s Macbeth, told through the lens of a Hitchcock thriller.

The play will be running Sept. - Dec. 2009 in Brookline's own Old Lincoln School on Rte. 9.  The ART is eager to have the community of Brookline involved in this unique production. Support the arts in Brookline, and support bringing patrons to local businesses by helping this production become a success.

Help with props for the production by cleaning out your basement!  Items needed:

  • bones (we need as many as possible; they can be from any sort of livestock or game, though bird bones are probably too small). We'll be having bone bleaching parties to clean them up this fall!
  • pre-1940s books (we need thousands!)
  • claw-foot tubs
  • taxidermy specimens, especially birds but really any sort of dead stuffed creature will do! (On our wish list are a black cat and a magpie)
  • mason jars
  • a 1930s or 1940s cash register
  • butterfly collections
  • 1930s radios or gramophones
  • playing cards
  • old skeleton keys
  • old-style sideboards
  • ...and much more
