<p><span style="font-size: larger;"><span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS;">The Freelance Players holds after school musical theater classes in Brookline for children ages 8-12 on Fridays(the <strong>Freelance Troupe</strong>) and for youth ages 12-17 (the <strong>Freelance Players</strong>) on Wednesdays. We also offer <strong>Story Theater</strong> classes for children ages 6-8 on Thursdays at Health School and on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Park School.</span></span></p>
Organization's Mission:
<p>The Freelance Players, Inc. engages young people in the production of original musical theater for audiences of all ages. Students acquire skill in acting, singing, improvisation, auditioning, and dance. Founded in 1974, Freelance programs use theater to foster trust, imagination and self-esteem in young people. The company promotes community by building bridges across geographic and socio-economic boundaries in greater Boston.</p>

Description of Services:
<p><span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS;">FLP Inc. offers theater training for young people, including five Freelance Troupes, the Freelance Players, and Story Theater Classes. The seasons begin in mid-September and late January/early February. </span></p>
<p><strong>The Freelance Troupes and the Players each produce one original musical per season. </strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS;">The Freelance Troupe</span></strong><span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS;"> is for children ages 8-12 and meets on Fridays at Driscoll. Children with little or no acting experience are encourage to join. The Troupe performances are in January and May. The finished productions tour the local area to after school programs and senior citizen residences.</span></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS;">The Freelance Players </span></strong><span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS;">is for older children ages 12-16. The Players rehearse at Driscoll School. Performances are in December and May at the Park School and involve elaborate sets, lighting, costumes and a band. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS;">All companies are staffed by theater professionals and meet after school. Story Theater classes give children ages 6-8 an opportunity to experiment with different theater games including improvisation and pantomime. These sessions run for 8 weeks and en with a mini-production.</span></p>

The PLAYERS meets in Brookline on Wednesdays. STORY THEATER classes are held in Brookline (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and Needham (Fridays).</span></p>
