Arts Center's Palette Project comes to Brookline in April

The Brookline Arts Center is organizing a major project to place art by Brookline artists throughout the community in April 2010. The Palette Project was created by Brookline Arts Center board members as a community-building project to raise awareness of local art, Brookline artists, and the art education programs at the Brookline Arts Center.

Open for both handbuilding and wheelthrowing, you will develop your skills with lots of important technical information combined with artists' techniques for finding your own personal style. Perfect for those putting together a portfolio of work for high school or college, or just use this class as a way to relax at the beginning of each week by connecting with your creative side!

Despite the winter’s cold, the Brookline Arts Center’s second floor photography gallery is filled with the light and color of spring, because of Deanna Christo’s exhibition Color Photography…Mostly Flowers. The exhibition presents new work by a Brookline photographer who came to the medium after she retired from a 34-year teaching career.

Pottery and Wheelthrowing Class for ages 10 and up (9 weeks)

Introduction to the techniques of handbuilding and wheelthrowing, to make sculptures, bowls, mugs, vases, platters and more in clay. The possibilities are endless.
