Free Collage Class for Ages 9-16
Students will use appropriation of different materials to put together a mixed media piece that describes and represnets their cutural backgroun, their heritage, and who they are as individuals. Studesnt will also get a brief lesson in how to compose a work of art: learning about the basic elements and principles of design, which will assist them in utilizing their materials to create wonderful works of art. Come meet the artists who will be exhibiting their work at the Brookline Arts Center during 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. See examples of their work at the Brookline Public Library's Hunneman Hall, in "Attractions" New art coming to the Brookline Arts Center.
The closing reception is Thursday, Sept. 30 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public at Hunneman Hall, Main Branch of the Brookline Public Library.
Art class for ages 9 - 13: Watercolor and Drawing
Here's a chance for your 9 to 13 year old start the weekend with creativity and fun, in a watercolor painting and drawing class at the Brookline Arts Center.
Class starts on Saturday, September 25 and run for 8 weeks (till Nov. 13): it's a 2 hour class from 10 a.m. to noon. A great way to do something fun, meet new children, while indulging the love of drawing and painting.

Mega Sculpture: an art class for children ages 6 to 8
Children not only learn to make sculpture in this class, they construct large sculptures and models, built up from boxes, tubes, and lots of other inspiring materials. The teacher, Elizabeth Rocha, has experience with sculpture, drawing, painting, and large puppets for the theatre.
