Fantasy and Folk: Drawing and Painting Class for ages 7 to 10
Children learn to paint and draw as they develop their creativity: create fantastic landscapes and imaginary creatures, while learning more about art and design. Mega Sculpture: an art class for children ages 6 to 8
Children not only learn to make sculpture in this class, they construct large sculptures and models, built up from boxes, tubes, and lots of other inspiring materials. The teacher, Elizabeth Rocha, has experience with sculpture, drawing, painting, and large puppets for the theatre. Landscape Painting class begins Monday, September 20
Capture the colors of fall in oil! Learn how to paint in oil step by step, as you learn to make landscape paintings. Make something beautiful, while you keep your learning skills sharp. You'll never see a trip to the art museum the same way again,now that you are a painter, too.
8 week classes start at the Brookline Arts Center on Monday, Sept. 20 at 9 a.m. till noon. Continues till November 15. Tuition: $264.

Somerville artists Leslie Shershow and George Summers will begin their autumn semesters of Jewelry and Metalsmithing (for Shershow) and Batik (for Summers) on September 13 at the Brookline Arts Center.
Shershow is a respected and talented jeweler who makes ironic and politically charged wearable sculpture. She teaches adults' classes on Monday, Tuesday and Friday nights from 6:30 to 9:30, while also teaching teens and adults on Monday and Tuesday afternoons at 3:30 p.m.

Pottery and Wheelthrowing: new class starts for TEENS
A class for ages 13 and up who want to begin or continue learning about pottery. Open for both handbuilding and wheelthrowing, you will develop your skills with lots of important technical information combined with artists' techniques for finding your own personal style. Perfect for those putting together a portfolio of work for high school or college, or just use this class as a way to relax at the beginning of each week by connecting with your creative side!
